The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), established under the Technical Education Act of 1967 and operational since 1969, is the premier state regulatory body responsible for organizing, developing, and governing technical and vocational education and training (TVET) across Bangladesh. Operating under the Technical and Madrasah Education Division of the Ministry of Education, the board is tasked with setting rigorous curricula, developing modern learning materials, and granting accreditation to public and private technical institutions nationwide. The BTEB oversees a wide spectrum of educational pathways, ranging from basic trade courses and secondary vocational programs (SSC and HSC Vocational) to comprehensive four-year diploma courses in engineering, agriculture, textiles, medical technology, marine technology, and business management. By conducting standardized examinations, ensuring institutional quality control, and awarding nationally recognized certificates and diplomas, the BTEB plays a critical role in bridging the gap between formal education and industry demands, thereby continuously developing a skilled, competent workforce equipped to drive Bangladesh’s economic growth and technological advancement.
