Driving Competency-Based Training in Cox’s Bazar: Empowering Industry Trainers and Master Craftspersons (MCPs)

I am incredibly proud to have served as the Lead Facilitator for the high, impact “Workshop on CBT and DTS/Apprenticeship Training for Industry Trainers/MCPs” held recently at the Hotel Long Beach in Cox’s Bazar.

Organized under the flagship ISEC Project (Leaving No One Behind: Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities for the Women and Youth in Cox’s Bazar), this vital capacity, building initiative was delivered by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Government of Bangladesh, in strategic partnership with Canada.

As the lead facilitator, my focus was on equipping local industry trainers and Master Craftspersons (MCPs) with the structural tools needed to operationalize Competency-Based Training (CBT) and Dual Training Systems (DTS). By bridging institutional learning with enterprise, based apprenticeship practices, we are systematically enhancing training quality, elevating youth employability, and building a more robust, market, responsive skills ecosystem for the region.

A big thank you to all the dedicated partners, industry leaders, and participants who joined hands to make this session a resounding success!
