The rapid industrialization and climate vulnerability of Bangladesh necessitate an urgent transition toward a green economy. This transformation demands a modernized workforce equipped not only with specialized environmental technologies but driven by a foundational mindset of sustainability. Traditional technical education often treats ecological awareness as an afterthought, yet true sustainable development requires integrating these principles directly into the core of vocational training. The CREST Matrix (Competency for Renewable and Environmental Sustainability Transition) serves as a strategic, structural framework designed to seamlessly integrate green competencies into the existing National Technical and Vocational Qualifications Framework (NTVQF/NSQF). Rather than overhauling the current system, the matrix retrofits existing Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A) methodologies, ensuring that sustainability becomes a measurable, practical standard across all training institutions under the BTEB and NSDA. By strategically mapping specific behavioral and technical green skills across all qualification levels, the CREST Matrix bridges the gap between academic theory and the evolving demands of the job market.
